Question by Sean: I just bought a 3 and 4 hybrid adams a7 and an adams prototype 26 degree to replace my long irons. How do I?
Do I swing these more like irons or a wood? What is the proper swing sequence? The 3 is a 19 degree, the 4 is a 22 degree and the 5 is a 26 degree. Excellent choice for someone who beginning playing golf 5 months ago? Paid $ 150 for all three, the 3 and 4 are nearly groundbreaking new.

You’re doing excellent. You should swing the hybrids like you swing every other club- it’s MUCH simpler to have one full swing for 13 clubs than 13 swings for 13 clubs (putter excluded). It’s a matter of ball placement in the stance where I glimpse confliction: some reckon playing the ball slightly forward (sort of like a FW) is excellent; others urge playing the ball in the middle of the stance (like a 6i). It’s up to you, really, to find the optimum spot.If I were you, I’d get them checked for length. Like every other club, the hybrids have been creeping longer in length- all in the pursuit of “more distance”. What they don’t tell you is longer clubs are harder to control. Go see a fitter- maybe a 40.5″ hybrid is what you need; maybe a 39.5″ is the ticket. The show is to make consistent, centered contact- the fitter is travel to help get you as close as s/he can to that (the rest will be up to you).
